HP2 stands for Healthy People, Healthy Planet. A phrase first heard while listening to a lecture series given by Mimi Guarneri, MD, an interventional cardiologist and head of Integrative Medicine at the Scripps Clinic in San Diego.
We believe that Healthy People, Healthy Planet sums up very well what it means to be healthy and well, taking into account our interconnectedness with each other and the natural world around us.
Health and wellness is about what we do, what we choose to eat, how we treat each other, and how we treat the Earth.
What does health mean to you? Is health and well-being merely the absence of illness, injury, or pain? Is it the absence of feeling fatigued or anxious? We believe it is much more. We see health and wellness not just the absence of disease or of feeling poor, but a process, a JOURNEY, if you will, toward our full potential physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is a self actualization process where we take an active role and put in the effort with food and activity choices, as well as life choices so that we feel good and are able to be a positive force with our families, friends, the community at large, and the environment.
At HP2 Wellness, we offer an array of services to get you on the path to good health and wellness. We offer Family Medicine for adolescents all the way to seniors, including well visits (check-ups), disease management for chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, urgent appointments for colds and flus and minor injuries, and treatment of basic sport injuries and other musculoskeletal problems. Our practice aims to incorporate traditional medicine with nutrition and lifestyle changes as well as alternative medicine to get to the root of health concerns, facilitating patient comfort and longevity to the best of our ability.
